Still locked down, still scratching at the walls… Twitch under my left eye strong and continuous. Started listening to Kyuss again. What does this all mean? Meh, who cares, look, bright colours and funny shapes! Hehe
Been experimenting a lot with Brusho paints. They are volitile but I love the fact you never know what’s going to happen!
Started the day trying to paint delicate flower petals with watercolour paints… Ended up going a bit crazy with ink and promarkers! It’s a bit crazy but I think there’s something pretty wild about it! It totally distracted me from carrying on trying to really learn how to paint all day though!
Twitching, itching and flicking ink all over the place again. Sunday’s art dinner is served! Hehe, I really need to get a plan together for next week, furlough madness will not win! At least The Great Pottery Throwdown is on in a bit, bloody love that show. Really hope to get some clay out when I have the space!
Had to keep on pushing this one today, it’s been a bit of a wrestle, and to be honest I’m still itching to rip it up. It’s not the nicest piece I’ve done today by a mile, but wanted to document it. There might be something in it that will pop up in another piece in the future!
I’ve got these new (well, new to me) Colourcraft Brusho powders that are insanely vibrant when activated with water, so really making a mess trying to work out how to use them properly!
Trying out some powdered paints today called Brusho. A very messy experiment but a ton of fun! Amazingly vibrant if used in moderation, they flow into each other easy, and keep going even when you think it’s stopped! Need more practice. Thank goodness Hobbycraft restocked on watercolour paper today, well stocked now for a few months!
It’s getting tricky trying to do art every day. I’m in such a fortunate position to be able to have all this time for a few more months, but sometimes it can be too much of a good thing. I need to grab a bit of structure to the day! Things are going wobbly…
Ok, must stay calm, running out of my favourite pink paint (who would have thought pink would be an obsessive colour), down to my last 15 sheets of watercolour paper, and there’s no sign of furlough ending any time soon. Just going to put my head between my knees and rock for a while.
There maybe be an ink shortage in the foreseeable future too… Waaaagghhhh!
Thought I would use the side of the watercolour pallette that I never use today,. So browns, tan, heavy greens. Gave me an autumn vibe. Felt a bit melancholic in the end, so best get back to the vibrant colours while the winter is in full swing. At least all this paint is holding back the furlough insanity… I think!
Happy new year everyone! I spent the festive period really obsessing over abstract ink and watercolour doodles. I treated myself to a Kuretake Fountain Brush Pen No.13 (get an ink adaptor, these babies loooooove ink) and I’ve not been able to put it down since! There’s something really satisfying about using real ink, filling up the pens, and having a thicker flow go on the paper. But anyway, enough of my new kink. Here are a few of my new works on A4 watercolour paper.
This one I’ve named Exploding spring, as.. well, one of the pens exploded (my fault, over filled!) and it is vibing on us all waiting for the Spring to arrive! Close up and photo of the original watercolour underneath the ink
Let me know what you think! It’s a bit of a change to my past artwork, but I’m feeling it’s the way forward, I’m very happy to explore it more. I think I’ve created about 30 pieces so far and can start to see a pattern with certain shapes in them. Art is like cracking a code sometimes huh?
This one I have nicknamed Albert, after the pocket watches. Not sure why it reminded me of watches though! It’s been great to keep photographic track on the work this time round, though I’m a nightmare for sorting out the photos once I’ve downloaded!
Hey there sexy, let me kiss you to the galaxy… Watercolour photography mash up!
Let me know what you think! Prints available at Red Bubble and Society 6!
Maybe I have been watching too much original Star Trek, Capitan Kirk kisses all the girls! And for those who are not as blue as me there’s an alternative sexy version!
