It’s getting tricky trying to do art every day. I’m in such a fortunate position to be able to have all this time for a few more months, but sometimes it can be too much of a good thing. I need to grab a bit of structure to the day! Things are going wobbly…
Thought I would use the side of the watercolour pallette that I never use today,. So browns, tan, heavy greens. Gave me an autumn vibe. Felt a bit melancholic in the end, so best get back to the vibrant colours while the winter is in full swing. At least all this paint is holding back the furlough insanity… I think!
Someone treated herself to some Rotring Isograph pens for Christmas, and then opened her presents too early… That someone was totally me! Hehe. So many circles, so many. Pretty sure I can see an eye and a weird mouth in there. What do you see?
Made with watercolour pencils, paints and ink. Keep experimenting!
This one was a mix up again of my Squeeby doodles and a watercolour background I was swishing around with. I bought some new Rotring Isograph pens for myself for Christmas and totally opened them early, so was messing around to see how they worked on thick printer paper, well, and on watercolour paper… Awesome. The one thing I can’t work out is what size nib I like the best! But it’s going to be a bit more environmentally friendly, I can refill them! I love Unipins but they don’t last so long (though far longer than Copics!) so least I’m not throwing plastic away every month or so!
So the original doodle is below, I threw it in Photoshop and tidied it a bit and thought I’d see what it was like if I coloured it. In the end I accidentally inverted it and it gave me the idea to put it in front of a watercolour. I think it’s got a bit of a boho tie-dye vibe to it. Let me know what you think!
I’ve loved the retro pin up styles ever since I picked up a copy of Bizarre magazine in the 90s’s and found the artist Coop. His devil woman has been laminated and on my many walls ever since. So really these are homage to him, and the retro style I love.
I’m really all about the food characters this week! Meet Cherry Sprinkles, the Karaoke Queen! Drops her sprinkles on the dance floor and sings a mean Freddy Mercury!
I really love creating cartoon characters, and a while back I went fast food mad, making hotdogs, burgers and pizzas! Hope you enjoy them. There are many yums and great fun at Society 6!
These products and lots of lovely others are available at SOCIETY 6!
I found out it was national chocolate day today and couldn’t resist doodling a chocolate penny character on the train to work (the train was delayed, may I should be thankful, more doodling time!) I came up with Bad Benny The Chocolate Penny and here he is, in all his goldness, and a… Baton? Guess he’s leading the way huh!
I have him up on RedBubble on all manner of fun things! Click HERE!
